  1. If possible, avoid the use of capital letters, punctuation or typical spam words (free, cheap, money, win, euro, €, $, ...) in the subject line and mail body.
  2. Limit the subject line to 45 characters.
  3. Avoid excessive use of exclamation points, punctuation in general, capitals and blank lines in the text area.
  4. Do not use too many different colors, fonts and font sizes, and keep the ratio image / text in mind. Obviously your mail looks better with a lot of images, but the more HTML the mail contains, the higher the spam score becomes. So make sure that there is more text in the mail than pictures.
  5. Spam filters especially watch mails in the English language. Provide a title of at least three words in English newsletters. This way, the mail will have a lower spam score. Titles like 'Dear John' get higher spam score.
  6. Use correct spelling.
  7. Limit the number of URLs that click through to another page. This ensures a higher spam score.
